Damaris was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala and when she was two, her family immigrated to the USA. Her family lived in New Jersey for a few years, and later settled in Pennsylvania, where she graduated high school from CASHS in 2002. She was raised in a Christian home and is the daughter of the founding pastors of the first Spanish speaking church in Chambersburg, PA – Iglesia Central Rey de Reyes. Finding her passion in ministry by serving and working alongside her parents at the church for many years, she worked to develop her gifts further in music and ministry by attending CanZion Music Institute, a worship leader school that specializes in music theory and theological preparation. Since then, she has written and recorded an album containing all original songs and is depending on God to put things in place so that these songs might be released soon.
A little over a year ago Damaris married her husband Nelson Sifonte whom she met on a trip to Cuba. Having to spend most of their first year of marriage separated while pending an immigrant visa for her husband to enter the country, they were finally granted the opportunity to start living the joys of newlywed life in Feburary of 2017. Together they aspire to accomplish many of their personal goals set as a couple and in God’s time, start a family of their own.
